Good morning, kids, Alex here.  I hope this post finds everyone well and rested, because you have got a lot of movies to watch!  While browsing through Netflix the other day, I realized that we have done reviews for a lot of new and featured movies on there.  If you are a Netflix subscriber you might have wondered if any of those are worth watching, well here is a recap of some of the ones we enjoyed (click on the movie title to take you to our review):

Bunraku – A visually stunning kung-fu movie with a great cast and lots of action.  We both really loved the look and feel of this one!

Trollhunter – A group of filmmakers stumble on to a government plot that involves the containment of actual living trolls in the countryside.

Black Snake Moan – When a religious black blues singer stumbles upon a whorish young white girl, he decides to help put her on the right path.

Red State – Kevin Smith’s down-and-dirty flick about a group of religious extremists in Texas, and the ATF agent that tries to bring them to justice.

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night – A detective of the supernatural tries to solve a case involving vampires, werewolves and zombies.

Hobo with a Shotgun – The title delivers in this movie, with a guy who has just had enough shit and takes matters into his own dirty bum hands.

Escape from New York – Kurt Russell is Snake Pliskin, in this John Carpenter action flick about a rebel sent into a prison city to rescue the president.

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist – The Chosen One must battle Evil Betty in this hilarious martial arts spoof filled with talking funny voice-overs, squeaky shoes and gopher-chucks.

Mystery Team – This is one of our favorites: a group of junior detectives (who are actually about 18) try to solve a murder, which is a far cry from the lost cat or stolen pie case they are used to working on.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space – Another one where the title pretty much sums up the entire movie.  It’s cheesy as hell, but it’s still a lot of fun.

Trick R’ Treat – Several short horror stories all revolving around Halloween in a small town.  This is a horror movie that you really need to see, it’s just one of the best recently made horror flicks by far.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon – A documentary film crew follows around a serial killer who hopes of becoming the next Jason or Freddy, but what happens when the film crew isn’t exempt from becoming victim’s themselves?

Even if you don’t subscribe to Netflix, or you just get DVDs by mail, you should definitely look into these flicks.  Tim and I think you will really enjoy them!
